I recently wrote a piece for an insurance trade publication. It’s all about The Power of Two, where the best brands understand and nurture the customer experience. Good communication is at the top of the list.
In this piece, I urge independent insurance agency owners to rate each of their carrier partners. And their employees who are in the trenches working with these firms should rate them as well. The ratings should be on a scale 0 (absolutely sucks) to 10 (rock solid):
- Customer service
- Underwriting responsiveness
- Financial strength
- Underwriting appetite
- Competitive pricing
- Claims service quality
- Financial strength
- Technology “ease of doing business”
- Underwriting flexibility
- Training and education
- Overall “feeling” that it’s a productive, two-way partnership.
- Compensation
- The “PITA” factor
You don’t have to be an insurance agent to take an honest, critical look at the relationships with your business partners. What’s working? What’s not working?
Maybe it’s time to prune the rose bush. The entire plant will perform better.
Honest engagement in a mutually beneficial relationship between brand and business partner.
That’s the Power of Two.
